FORENSIC SCIENCE - MIXED MODE

INTRODUCTION

Master of Science (Forensic Science) Mixed Mode Programme is offered to produced more forensic professionals to meet the demand of forensic science practitioners and law enforcement agencies.

Based on the inputs from key stake holders, forensic practitioners, academics and stringent benchmarking against renowned forensic science institutions both locally and internationally, this programme has been designed to allow prospective candidates to specialise into either forensic chemistry or forensic biology.

This programme will equip prospective candidates with current knowledge, techniques and essential skills in forensic science which will be assimilated through well-designed theoretical and practical sessions. It also serves as a platform for prospective candidates to pursue PhD in forensic science.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Bachelor of Science (Forensic, Chemistry, Biology, Applied Science, Health Sciences or other related and recognised degrees) 2.75 and above -
2.50 - 2.74

1. Research experience (minimum 1 year)

                                  OR

2. Working experience in related field (minimum 1 year)

                                  OR

3.  Two (2) academic publications (journals, not proceedings) in the field applied

                                  OR

4.  Grade B for major/elective courses

                                  OR

5.  Grade B+ in final year project

                                  AND

3. Subject to additional requirement(s) by the School

2.00 - 2.49

1. Research experience (minimum 5 years)

                                  OR

2. Working experience in related field (minimum 5 years)

                                  AND

3. Two (2) academic publications (journals, not proceedings) in the field applied

                                  OR

4. Grade B+ for major/elective courses

                                  OR

5. Grade A- in final year project

                                  AND

6.  Subject to additional requirement(s) by the School

* Foreign Student has to produce English proficiency result as follows:

  • TOEFL paper based (minimum score 550) or
  • TOEFL computer based (minimum score 213) or
  • TOEFL Internet-based (minimum score 80) or
  • IELTS (skor minimum Band 6)
