POSTGRADUATE SUBCOMMITTEE FOR MASTER OF SCIENCE (SPORT SCIENCE) COURSEWORK MODE PROGRAMME
1. Role of Postgraduate Subcommittee
The Master of Science (Sport Science) course is a 12-months full-time study. This course in sport science and exercise physiology covers the relevant basic sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, research methodology) and applied sciences in sports and exercise (applied exercise physiology, sports psychology, sports nutrition, sports biomechanics, training methodology, sports management, management of sports injuries, effect of exercise on health and fitness). The role of subcommittee members are as below:
i. Select appropriate and qualified candidates from applicants to this MSc Sport Science course.
ii. Identify the teaching staff to give lectures to the MSc (Sport Science) students throughout the whole course.
iii. Identify and appoint relevant supervisors to guide the research project that has to be conducted by the MSc (Sport Science) students as part of the pre-requisite to be graduated.
iv. Identify and appoint staff to act as an academic advisor to the MSc (Sport Science) students.
v. Identify and appoint staff to examine the dissertations submitted by the MSc (Sport Science) students at the end of the MSc (Sport Science) course.
vi. To carry out any other official duties assigned by the Coordinator. This Postgraduate Subcommittee plays a very vital role in ensuring the quality of the teaching and learning process for the MSc Sport Science course.
