The Career Development Series was held by the Biomedicine Society, School of Health Sciences, on 25th May 2022 via Cisco Webex online meeting. The aim of the session was to provide an opportunity for students to gain insight and motivation from the life journey of a notable alumnus and gain insights into how to be better prepared themselves before furthering study or entering the job industry. The guest speaker invited was Dr. Kuan Chee Sian who has completed his undergraduate and doctorate degree in School of Health Sciences, USM. Dr. Kuan Chee Sian is the founder of NeoGenix Laboratoire Sdn. Bhd., NeoGenix Evo Sdn. Bhd., Agelock Biotech Sdn. Bhd., and the director of several prominent companies in Malaysia. Later, Neogenix Laboratoire was selected as one of the only five companies in Malaysia to sign with the BD Summit in Doha, Qatar as a collaborative partner for the healthcare sector in the Middle East. Neogenix became the first private laboratory to provide COVID-19 PCR tests to 59 government hospitals in Malaysia, awarded by the Ministry of Health in 2020. Recently, Neogenix collaborated with Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MaRii) and RZAC ImmuneSAFE Sdn. Bhd. to provide antibody testing to help verify the effectiveness of vaccine protection. As for his personal achievement, Dr. Kuan was named as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians in 2020, one of the Ten Young Persons of the World, and granted the Creative Young Entrepreneur Award in 2021 by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Malaysia, he was awarded the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian Award in Medical Innovation. The moderator of the session was Ms. Auji binti Abdul Azhar, Year 3 Biomedicine student. There were 104 participants engaged in this two-hour session.
