CONTINUOUS DIETETIC EDUCATION - SESSION WITH USM ALUMNI

Date: 7^th April 2021

The Nutrition and Dietetics Programme, School of Health Sciences has organized a Continuous Dietetic Education - Session with USM Alumni (via online Webex) on 7^th April 2021. The invited panels were Ms. Farah Hanna Sakri, Mrs. Latifah Ahmad and Mrs. Nurul Nadia Yusof, dietitians from Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kota Bharu, Hospital Raja Perempuan Bainun, Ipoh and Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah, Klang, Selangor, respectively. The session was aimed as a platform for sharing knowledge and experience, as well as current updates of clinical dietitians in managing T1DM patients and hyperglycaemia in non-critically ill inpatient receiving enteral nutrition. In addition, the role of dietitian in assisting with hospital menu in USM was also highlighted. The session was beneficial especially to Dietetics students. Mrs. Juliana Shamsudin was the host and also the person in charge of the program to ensure the success of this event. Approximately 40 participants engaged in this session. 

ALUMNI SHARING SESSION – CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN SPORTS NUTRITION

Date: 25^th April 2021

The Nutrition and Dietetics Programme, School of Health Sciences has organized Alumni Sharing Session – Career Opportunities in Sports Nutrition (via online Webex) on 25^th April 2021. The invited speaker was Mr. Mohd Qusyairy Ajmain Mohd Amin from the National Sport Institute, Malaysia. This event was designed to provide a platform for the speaker to share experience as a sport dietitian and career opportunities for USM Dietetics students. Mr. Mohd Hairil Nizam, a PPSK dietitian, was the host and person in charge of ensuring the event’s success. Approximately 40 participants engaged in this session. 

PCOS & PENGURUSAN BERAT BADAN

Date: 5^th June 2021

The Nutrition and Dietetics Programme, School of Health Sciences in collaboration with NutriFit365 Sdn. Bhd. have organized an Online Webinar Nutrifit365, entitled PCOS & Pengurusan Berat Badan on 5^th June 2021. The invited speakers were Ms. Amira Sujali, CEO Nutrifit365 Sdn. Bhd. and Ms. Nur Aliah Syazwani, a Dietitian from Tawau Specialist Medical Centre, Sabah. This event was designed to provide a forum for USM undergraduate students, particularly those studying Nutrition and Dietetics, to discuss PCOS and body weight management. Dr. Hafzan Yusoff served as the event’s host and was in charge of ensuring the event’s success. Approximately 100 participants engaged in this event.
