The School of Health Sciences has successfully organised a Workshop on Laboratory Management and Safety on 4th October 2018. As an annual activity by the Quality & Equipment Committee from the school, the workshop was aimed to introduce to the students the concept of laboratory management and safety, the specific guidelines in handling laboratory equipment, and subsequently increase the awareness on this matter among the students. This workshop was attended by 246 students from various programmes, including Forensic Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing, Biomedicine, Environmental & Occupational Health and Medical Radiation, as well as the postgraduate students. The workshop, supported by the Dean of School of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Norazmi Mohd Nor, was officiated by the Deputy Dean (Research & Innovation), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rapeah Suppian accompanied by Dr. Mohd Dasuki Sul’ain as Chief Quality & Equipment Committee.
Talks on laboratory management, chemical waste management, and laboratory & safety guidelines were delivered by our Chief Science Officer, Mr. Md. Lukmi Ismail and lecturer from Environmental & Occupational Programme, Mr. Mohd Nasrom Mohd Nawi. Practical session was also conducted by Mrs. Fazdillah Husin as the project director, Mrs. Roslina Mat Zain, Mrs. Nik Rohaya Mohd Ibrahim, Mrs. Nor Azita Mohd Nasir, Mr. Nik Fakurudin Nik and Mr. Mohd Aminordin Darus Mohamed Nor.
