The School of Health Sciences (PPSK), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) had successfully organised a 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) Awareness Programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bendang Pa’yong, Tumpat, Kelantan. With the aim to integrate knowledge, attitude and practices on 3R among the school children, this programme was facilitated by 42 facilitators, including the third and fourth year undergraduate students from Environmental and Occupational Health Programme, postgraduate students and lecturers.
The programme was commenced with an opening speech by the director of the programme, Ms. Nur Nasuha Khairul Anwar, followed by a welcoming speech from the headmaster, Mr. Mohd Sanusi Bin Yusoff. More than 400 school children from standard one to six had participated in the programme, comprised of informative and interactive talk on 3R, audio-visuals and quizzes, as well as various games to strengthen their knowledge and awareness on 3R.
