Program Sekolah Angkat Bersepadu (PSAB) at SMK Abdul Samad

On 21st and 22nd of March 2019, about 80 staffs and students of PPSK involved in Program Sekolah Angkat Bersepadu (PSAB). This event is organised annually and has been one of the prime events of PPSK community. This year, SMK Abdul Samad, located at the famous small town of Pulai Chondong has been chosen to be a “Sekolah Angkat” under PPSK with a theme “Kesihatan Mental Menjamin Kesejahteraan Bersama”. This program was aimed to increase awareness regarding mental health among teenagers and instill social responsibilities to fight against mental illness that commonly experienced by people nowadays such as depression, suicidal thoughts, etc.

The event started with a motivational talk entitle “Mental Health: Its Importance and Challenges” delivered by Dr. Mohd Zarawi Mat Nor from Medical Education Department, followed by health and dental screening by PPSK and PPSG staffs, blood donation services, as well as dietetic and nutrition consultations which were happening concurrently. During this program, 30 students of PPSK had been given the chance to be the facilitators to conduct activities with Form 4 and Form 5 students of SMK Abdul Samad. Many activities were done such as explorace, presentations, forum and sharing moments. Special thanks to Dr. Mohd Dasuki Bin Hj. Sul’ain as the advisor, Mr. Muhammad Syahir Hakimi Bin Mohd Hazli (Biomed 2nd Year) as the project director, staffs from PPSK, PPSG and Blood Transfusion Centre, committed PPSK students as well as teachers of SMK Abdul Samad for their contributions, participations and commitments in ensuring this event was a success.
