On April 1, 2021, the Audiology Program PPSK has organized the 'Program Cakna Pendengaran Murid Berkeperluan Khas (MBK)' via online. This program was initiated in collaboration with Special Education Sector, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri (JPN) Kelantan. According to the program advisor, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Normani Zakaria, this program was held primarily to provide the essential knowledge to teachers, student management assistants, parents and the community in managing MBK. An emphasis was also made on the importance of listening and speaking in teaching and learning activities involving MBK. The committee members of this program consist of all academic and non-academic staff members of the Audiology Program PPSK and the representatives of JPN Kelantan.

With the theme of "Penjagaan Kesihatan Pendengaran MBK Tanpa Sempadan", this event aimed to create a continuous knowledge delivery collaboration between USM and JPN Kelantan. In the early stages of planning of this event, the Audiology Program PPSK planned to implement a hearing screening program among MBKs. However, to comply with the Ministry of Education Malaysia's circular following the COVID-19 pandemic, the program had to be postponed and replaced with an online knowledge sharing event through the YouTube Live channel SSTP JPN Kelantan.

Essentially, the event was officiated by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeah Suppian, the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate, Career, and International, as the representative of the Dean of the School of Health Sciences. Among the interesting topics during this event was the hearing problems among MBK, which was thoughtfully presented by Dr Wan Najibah Wan Mohammad. The essential knowledge and handling of hearing aids and cochlear implants were considerately delivered by Mr. Mahamad Almyzan Awang, the lecturer of audiology program. Meanwhile, Associate Professor Mohd Normani Zakaria also shared his knowledge during "Forum Cabaran MBK semasa Pandemik Covid-19". Two invited speakers from the Best Speech Care Centre, Madam Azlinda Abd Ghani and teacher’s representative, Mr Mohd Zaidi Mohd Nawi, also shared their experience. The event lasted for almost four hours and has received excellent response, in which the YouTube Live Playbacks’ data for the event revealed almost four thousand viewers (who have or were watching the program). It is hoped that through this event, the collaboration between PPSK and JPN Kelantan will be continuous (in fact, discussions had been made in regard to our subsequent collaborative activities). It is also expected that all the knowledge sharing sessions would be beneficial to the audience in the handling of MBK, especially those related to hearing and speech.
